Meet Jimmy Bohn. National Truck Driver School Graduate of the Month for February 2010.

Jimmy is married and has 3 children ages 8, 11, and 17 and they hail from Punta Gorda, Florida. Like many during these slow times Jimmy is feeling the heat from the economy. Jimmy worked for the same company for the past 15 years and even though he still works for the same company and being that times are tight at the moment Jimmy felt he needed “back-up” job plan in case the worst happens with his current job.

Jimmy seems to have a very good mindset on things. It is always a great idea to have a back-up plan to fall back on. In fact, we preach to our students to always have one. Trucking is an excellent job skill to have in such a case when companies are struggling and jobs are not readily available.

Trucking has always sustained tough times better than most occupations and has carried our country out of many slow economies. You see the goods still need to get from point A to point B. This will not stop and drivers are still needed to accomplish this very important task.

Jimmy’s inspiration for this new endeavor came from his wife who actually talked him into looking at something he’s always wanted to do. Well, Jimmy has always had an interest in truck driving since he was very young and, as he puts it, “here I am”.

Jimmy’s memorable moments during his training was he got to meet some very good people. People he sees in the same situation as him and some a lot worse. Jimmy tells us he’s very grateful for what he has and what he has accomplished. He’s also thankful for the instructors were always there to help.

Jimmy plans are to survive this tough economy. He now has a back-up plan in place. He predicts his current job will only get slower so he’s ready when the time comes to depart.

Jimmy, we wanted to share a comment one of our instructors, Stuart Richards, made about you and his experience with you.

“Jimmy was a great student. He was always serious about his training and he has a dedicated attitude that will bring him success in the future.”
