Delwin McCowan had experience operating heavy equipment before deciding to come to National Heavy Equipment Operators School. Delwin McCowan wanted to become certified as a heavy equipment operator. Certifications are extremely difficult to obtain without formal training. Delwin was not fond of the home study course that prepared him for resident training. He decided on heavy equipment as a career mostly because his former profession was not diverse enough. Being a heavy equipment operator allows him to use different machines, perform different tasks, and meet new people.

Delwin McCowan saw an ad for our school in his local newspaper. Knowing that accredited training was a sure path to certification he gave us a call. His school representative Andrew set up an interview. After discussing the benefits of our type of training and deeming Delwin a good candidate for school, Andrew recommended him for the training. The rest is history.

Delwin graduated back in September of ’03 and has loved what he does ever since. Delwin works for Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Water Resource Department. He operates a variety of heavy equipment. He is pictured here on the tracks of his Volvo EC240 B Long Reach Excavator. He intends to stay there for a while too. Why not? The money’s great!

Delwin is a National Heavy Equipment Operators School’s Featured Graduate.
